Appointments to these Boards are made by the Supervisors at their annual reorganization meeting held each January. A brief description of the roles and functions of each board is listed below. Residents who are
interested in serving are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and resume to the Township office by mid-December.
Planning Commission
A five (5) member Board whose primary function is to
review matters pertaining to subdivision, land development, zoning revisions, amendments to the zoning and land development ordinances, and updates to the Township's Comprehensive Plan.
Zoning Hearing Board
A five (5) member Board with three (3) alternates who are empowered to rule on various provisions of the Township's zoning ordinance. Decisions are rendered on public appeals involving requests for
special exceptions, variances and zoning interpretations.
Municipal Authority
A five (5) member Board charged with the maintenance, operation and expansion of the sanitary sewer system. The
Authority also finances projects to repair, replace or extend sewer lines usually through the issuance of bonds. The Authority must insure that sewer rates are sufficient to guarantee debt service payments on the
bonds as well as for the costs in maintaining the sewer line and paying for treatment plant charges.
Parks and Recreation Board
A seven (7) member Board that meets to discuss and plan for the
recreational needs of the Township. This Board also makes recommendations on rules and regulations for facility use, scheduling of fields, and activities such as Lunch with Santa, the annual Easter egg hunt and
various soccer, tennis and basketball clinics.
